As you might have heard, Shia LaBeouf is playing John McEnroe in an upcoming film called Borg/McEnroe. (You might have also heard the 30-year-old actor recently got hitched). But as LaBeouf is known for immersing himself heavily in his roles, he's taken at least one wardrobe item from the court in Prague back home to Los Angeles in the form of some old-school Nike Wimbledon GTS sneakers. The shoes have a classic, stylish quality to them that defined so many early- to mid-’80s Nikes and made McEnroe one of the brand's early success stories. Since McEnroe's fiery personality brought notoriety to the sneakers, the brand has gone on to create iconic tennis styles including Andre Agassi's Tech Challenge and Roger Federer's Nike Court Zoom Vapor (perhaps the only tennis sneaker ever to create basketball-shoe-like hype).
