ASSK was launched in Paris in 2012, by Australian born duo Agatha Kowalewski and Sarah Schofield. Sarah studied fashion design in Melbourne at RMIT University and in Paris at the Institut Français de la Mode before gaining experience at Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Nina Ricci, Versace and Jacquemus. Agatha, is Australian born with Polish heritage, she previously worked as an assistant to stylists including Lotta Volkova, Vanessa Reid, Jane Howe and Tim Lim. Finding a gap in the Parisian market for affordable but high quality clothing, they took one designer's experience in luxury design and mixed it with the other's sports obsession to form the brand ASSK. The brand is the result of the international life of it’s founders, a interconnected world with no boundaries. Being heavily inspired by subcultures, teams and modern day communities, the brand is all-inclusive, and not bound by country or gender. This inspiration of international connectivity is mirrored in a long running collaboration with Dutch born and Melbourne based, artist Oliver Van Der Lugt. ASSK clothing is produced with high quality manufacturing in central Paris, combined with sports and technological effects produced in Asia.
